$95,000.00/Yr. - $115,000.00/Yr.Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Axos is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lead Underwriter who will be responsible for hiring, leading, and mentoring a team of local and remote Underwriters. In this role, you must ensure tasks are completed timely, accurately, and with stellar customer service. You will also be responsible for pipeline management, compliance/credit/regulatory guidelines, and escalations.Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and training to promote constant growth within the companyDevelop and update procedural manuals and checklistsPipeline management to ensure service levels are met while maintaining superior customer service and qualityResolve customer related problems and loan level issues as they are escalatedReview and respond to quality control and investor suspense items related to Credit for loan salesImplement goals and initiatives as communicated by senior management and prepare accurate and timely performance reviewsCoach and counsel the direct reports and team associates for peak performanceConduct/complete: underwriting interviews, training, second level reviews (such as denials, lending authority, and counteroffers)Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)5+ years of underwriting experience in real estate or lending, with at least 2 years in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and regulatory requirementsProven leadership and team management skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing teamsExcellent analytical and decision-making skills with a detail-oriented approachProficiency in underwriting systems and tools, with strong technical and problem-solving abilitiesOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and interact with stakeholdersExperience in handling escalated or complex underwriting scenariosAxos Employee Benefits May Include:
