What You’ll Do:
The Service Roof Inspector, reporting directly to the Service Manager, is responsible for evaluating the condition of commercial roofing systems to help extend their lifespan. The role includes conducting inspections, taking detailed photographs, preparing condition reports, and offering recommendations for roof repairs and maintenance. The Service Roof Inspector ensures that roofs are properly assessed and documented, supporting the team in maintaining the safety and integrity of roofing systems.
Skills and Knowledge:
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings to owners and customers clearly and professionally.Technical Knowledge:Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including EPDM, TPO, PVC, Modified Systems, Metal, Hot Melt Waterproofing, Liquid Membrane, Flashing, and Built-Up Roofing.Strong understanding of manufacturer warranties and roofing material specifications.Advanced roof system diagnosis and repair skills.Ability to identify roofing materials and recommend appropriate repair methods.Software Proficiency: Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to learn and use company-specific software tools.Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Physical Ability: Must be able to climb ladders, navigate rooftops, and lift materials as needed.Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts that may include weekdays and weekends.Education and Experience:
Experience: Prior experience in commercial roofing troubleshooting, service repairs, roof inspections, or field installation is highly preferred.Roofing Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial roofing systems (e.g., EPDM, TPO, PVC, SBS, BUR, liquid-applied, asphalt shingles, and metal) is highly preferred.Driver’s License: Must hold a valid Driver’s License with no restrictions. Certifications:Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 certification (training provided by Nations Roof).New York State Only: OSHA 40, SST card for city work, and FDNY Certificate of Fitness required Language: English fluency required, particularly for written reports.Benefits Include:
