Job Summary

The Commercial Transformation Governance Consultant invests in the future of Southwest’s People by supporting the efforts of launching projects that will change how Southwest operates such as Assigned and Premium Seating, Airline Partnerships, and Southwest Vacations. This role interacts with groups across the entire organization – Commercial, Operations, Technology, etc. - to ensure the successful planning and delivery of projects and presentations. The Commercial Transformation Governance Consultant has strong interpersonal and project management skills that will help drive the future of Technology at Southwest.

ResponsibilitiesSupport the management of the highest-level Commercial governance forum (Commercial Leader Meeting), including collection and distribution of supporting materials and maintenance of pipeline of future governance topicsSupport the management of the Airline Design Team, a high-level planning and governance forum designed to govern decisions and drive planning alignment amongst the Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial OfficerCollect and distribute supporting materials and engage in weekly coordination across multiple levels of Leadership (Officer, Director, Manager) across Commercial, Operations, and FinanceSupport creation of high-quality presentations on Commercial strategy and Commercial performance, to be delivered by the Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and other Commercial Officers to the highest level internal (Board of Directors, Senior Executives) and external (Investor Day events, Industry conferences) audiencesSupport and plan Commercial Officer off-site retreats to locations of strategic importance for the Commercial organizationDrive internal alignment amongst stakeholder groups across the Company, as well as external coordination with partners and third parties who Southwest works with to achieve strategic and financial goals within a marketMay perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of commercial aviation industry, including general commercial aviation economics, key industry financial performance metrics, and the industry competitive landscape in the United StatesSkilled in Microsoft PowerPoint and creating high-quality, Executive-level presentationsSkilled in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookupSkilled in pulling industry-specific information from sources such as DiioAbility to perform financial analysis and identify key financial performance drivers and key insights from financial statementsAbility to identify, synthesize, and communicate key Commercial performance metrics and driversAbility to identify and create the important Commercial message or story on strategy, plans, performance, and competitive dynamics with guidance from LeadersAbility to deliver a high volume of Executive-level presentations in short periods of timeAbility to drive cross-functional alignment amongst all Leadership levels (Officer, Director, Manager)Ability to manage a high volume of fast-paced and quickly-changing details and requests from dozens of Leaders regarding Commercial and cross-functional governanceEducationRequired: High School Diploma or GED

Pay and Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $102,500.00 per year to $113,900.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
