Our client, a prominent financial services company specializing in commercial real estate transactions, is seeking a Commercial Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters and title professionals. This role offers an opportunity to drive operational success while providing expert underwriting support for complex commercial transactions.
Candidate Profile: JD required. Florida Bar Admission. 5–7 years of underwriting experience with a focus on complex commercial transactions. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop teams. Experience managing underwriting operations at a national or regional level. Proven ability to establish and maintain high-level relationships with attorneys, clients, and internal stakeholders. Strong business acumen and strategic decision-making skills. National Commercial experience preferred. Can be remotely based in Florida in any city, with ability to travel to Miami, if necessary. What You’ll Do: Manage the daily operations of the underwriting team, setting priorities and ensuring the highest standards of service in commercial transactions. Develop and implement underwriting strategies in collaboration with senior management to align with broader business objectives. Oversee and guide underwriting reviews, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, attorneys, and industry professionals to expand business opportunities. Represent the company at industry events and networking functions to enhance market presence and drive new business. Provide training and mentorship to underwriting teams, ensuring operational efficiency and professional development. Collaborate with internal departments, including marketing and sales, to streamline processes and enhance service delivery. Monitor industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting policies and practices.
