About the Role: 

This position is responsible for daily support and operation of the Commercialization Lab and all its activities.  Activities will include commercialization trials, sales sample production and small-scale retail production!

 

Role Responsibilities:

Provide hands on support for operations in the Commercialization Laboratory, including trial specific and day-to-day operational activities. Coordinate and supervise temporary staffing resources when required, maintain stock levels, upkeep and maintenance of equipment and lead capital investment projects. Identify and lead efficiency and continuous improvement efforts toward the goal of world-class Pilot Scale Laboratories.    

Provides technical support to all business partners.  Support may include product/raw material testing, validation of manufacturing processes, root cause problem solving for technical issues or serving as a source of technical product information.  

Demonstrates trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities to resolve technical issues related to production equipment, production logistics and technical issues encountered during trials.   

 

 Specific Responsibilities:

Lead pilot scale trials for Liquid Development, Pack, Process Technology and Sales Sample production. Provide all necessary materials, process equipment, and expertise to optimally complete all trial objectives while maintaining full compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Maintain all required GMP, HACCP and TTB compliance and documentation. 

Commission, maintain, inspect and operate with a high level of competence, all new and existing C Lab equipment. Perform routine CIP & Maintenance on all C Lab Processing and Packaging equipment and utility systems. 

Develop expertise and SME status in Pilot Scale Batching & Processing activities. ( i.e. ingredient procurement, blending, filtration, bottling, quality assurance, milling, mashing, fermentation, pilot scale distilling and brewing)  

Support Zero Harm initiatives for the Pilot Plant and the Brand Technical Center safety programs .

 

Experience and Qualifications:

2+ years of Technical and Professional development experience in CPG, beverage experience preferred. 

BS in Chemical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Food Science or related technical field / equivalent prior experience. 

Solid theoretical knowledge of liquid processing and packaging equipment with demonstrated knowledge of product commercialization and manufacturing processes/procedures. 

Solid business acumen, communication, interpersonal, influencing and relationship-building skills. 

Experience in a fast paced environment, with the ability to lead and provide guidance and cut-through in the face of ambiguity. 

Experience working within cross-functional teams, and an understanding of effective project management principles. ​
