Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service and attention to our Guests. As a Commis de Rang you will prepare the dining venues and equipment, food pass and service area of your assigned station in the restaurant, ensuring Guests are consistently provided with courteous, engaging, prompt and efficient service. You will assist the Chef de Rang in the serving of food and attending Guest needs and requests, being highly visible in the operation, providing an expertly service experience, clearing and resetting tables according to standards and respecting the Hygiene standards applied in the Restaurant as per HACCP system. You will be communicating Guest orders to the Chef de Rang, serving food items and beverages, taking care of any special requests, anticipating guest needs, ascertaining satisfaction, and offering suggestions, assisting with restaurant inventory, taking care of the breakdown, cleaning and setting-up of tables and work stations
What you will do:
Describe the selection of food & beverage menu items to Guests by offering interesting, and vivid descriptions of the each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate Guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen using the hotel’s point-of-sales system; coordinate food timings; check completed kitchen orders with the Guest’s original order; transport items to the Guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality
Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets, and food stations.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
What you bring:
High school education or equivalent experience.
Minimum two years food service or related work. Food service experience in luxury hotels and/or stand-alone fine dining restaurants or restaurant groups, preferably in the same position. International experience would represent an asset.
Ability to carry and balance a tray.
You should have attention to detail, strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, the ability to multi-task with excellent organizational skills, be a team player and bring your personal touch and energy to our guest experiences.

Schedule & Hours:
This is a full-time position
The candidate must have a flexible schedule and work also on weekends and holidays.
This position is based at the San Domenico Palace in Taormina and the contract is seasonal. You must possess the legal right to work in Italy.
