Commissioner Responsibilities and Duties: 1)Serve the President’s Council as their representative to member institutions and the national governing body – NCAA D-III 2)Work with the Administrative Council (ADs-FARs-Senior Women) to effectively operate the SLIAC Conference 3)Serve as the primary supervisor of the conference office and other conference office personnel 4)Coordinate with the Associate Commissioner to effectively plan, develop, operate, and manage the SLIAC conference within the constitution and bylaws of the SLIAC and the national governing body - NCAA D-III 5)Supervise, delegate and assign conference duties and responsibilities to the Associate Commissioner 6)Attend and represent the SLIAC at various national meetings (NCAA, DIIICA, NACDA) as appropriate. 7)Serve as the conference’s primary NCAA compliance officer 8)Develop and manage an annual conference budget and the NCAA Strategic grant funds 9)Develop and deliver invoices for annual membership dues and institutional official’s fees 10)Plan, develop and administrate conference championships in 19 sports 11)Understand and work with RefQuest for assignment and payment of sport officials in 9 sports 12)Develop and implement team sport schedules 18-24 months in advance of each season 13)Plan, develop and host regular conference meetings with coaches and administrators (mostly Zoom) 14)Understand and organize the medical hardship process within the conference 15)Develop and maintain various contracts with appropriate vendors 16)Plan, develop and organize the annual Hall of Fame and Awards banquet 17)Regularly visit conferences institutions and attend athletic contests
Qualifications Required: 1)Bachelor’s degree required in an appropriate, related field of education 2)Master’s preferred 3)Previous experience working within a collegiate conference office as an administrator is preferred 4)Previous experience working within a collegiate athletic organization or institution as an athletic administrator is required
