Commissioning Authority\/Engineer \u2014 HVAC and Plumbing Systems

Headquartered in beautiful Carlsbad, CA, with secondary support operation located in Jacksonville, FL, we are a full-service Design-Build company. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations' team members who work on location for each of our projects. We currently have a backlog of work of $1B in CA, WA, VA, NC, SC, FL and also Guantanamo Cuba and Puerto Rico. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus in the Department of Defense market.\n

We are looking for a Commissioning Authority\/Engineer - HVAC and Plumbing Systems to join our team in our Jacksonville, FL office. The Commissioning Authority (CxA) is responsible for leading and managing the commissioning process of building systems, ensuring they are designed, installed, and operate as intended. The CxA serves as the technical expert overseeing the commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems to verify performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with the Project Requirements. The CxA will collaborate with project stakeholders throughout design, construction, and post-construction phases, ensuring that systems meet or exceed operational, contractual, and design requirements. This position will be part of RQC's mechanical and plumbing engineering design development practices in all regions of work performed by RQ, in adherence to U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Army surveying, planning and RFP design standards.\n

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\n\nBachelor Science Mechanical Engineering Degree - Focus on HVAC and Plumbing Engineering.\nP.E. license.\nA minimum of 7 years (10 years preferred) experience of HVAC \/ Plumbing in on or more of the following: design, construction, installation, operations and maintenance, testing and balancing, building automation temperature control systems, inspections, and troubleshooting operational issues.\nExperience with ASHRAE 90.1, 62.1 and 55.\nExperience with California Title 24 Energy Code.\nExperience with BIM and Revit.\nExperience with sustainable design desirable.\nCertification(s) from applicable organizations, such as ACG, AABC, ADD, NEBB, etc. are preferred but not required.\nWorking knowledge of the Cx process.\n\n
