Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will perform tests for various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems, review design and submittal documents, and provide construction observations. This role involves executing all aspects of existing building commissioning projects, including field data collection, checklist development, on-site functional testing, analysis, calculations, and final report writing. You will also witness and interpret equipment performance tests, install and use data logging equipment, and analyze the collected data.
Responsibilities
+ Perform tests for a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems.
+ Review design, submittal, and other documents and provide construction observations.
+ Develop pre-functional and functional test plans.
+ Execute all aspects of existing building commissioning projects including field data collection, checklist development, on-site functional testing, analysis, calculations, and final report writing.
+ Witness and interpret equipment performance tests, install and use data logging equipment, and analyze the collected data.
+ Contribute to the engineering team’s delivery of energy consulting on complex projects for local and national clients.
+ Complete written commissioning reports, clearly communicating results to clients and stakeholders.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in building commissioning.
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering or related subject preferred. Related technical commissioning training and experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
+ Knowledge of Local codes, IECC, ASHRAE, and various state/local requirements.
+ Ability to review MEP submittals, navigating between requirements listed on drawings and project specifications.
+ Ability to review equipment sequences and interlocks, develop functional performance tests to confirm proper operation of equipment.
+ Experience testing mechanical equipment including large central plants, and understanding and experience testing lighting controls systems.
+ Understanding of Building Automation Systems – Ability to review graphics, alarms and trending, identifying system shortcomings.
+ Experience and expertise with using test equipment, such as ADM airflow data multimeter, flow-hood, ultrasonic leak detector, ultrasonic flow meter, HDM (hydrometer) combustion analyzer, and other common test equipment.
+ Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects in different phases of design and construction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certified Building Commissioning Agent, CCP, BCxP, or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment
This position requires you to work in the office for 3 days a week with site visits. The role offers opportunities to engage with a large company with offices around the country.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
