Commissioning Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES + You will be part of the Projects and Services Teams involved in the commissioning, breakdowns and servicing of equipment and systems supplied to our global customer’s. + Working on Allan Bradley and Siemens based software.~ + You will be required to travel at short notice + The position is a mixed office/workshop/site role with Frequent overseas travel to our global customer sites. + Install or supervise the installation of electrical and mechanical equipment aimed at improving + Coordinate with the customer or third-party contractor to accomplish tasks. + Provide training to customer representatives during commissioning including operators, engineers, and management. + Prepare all documentation related to on-site activities including site visit reports, marked up as built drawings, time sheets, and commissioning documents. + Provide technical support to customers to resolve plant breakdown or reliability issues. + Perform service visits at customer facilities to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software issues, and/or to handle scheduled maintenance tasks. + Document any issues or product improvement ideas and present this information to the Altek team. + Assist with the assembly and factory acceptance testing of Altek products at our facility in the UK + This role requires extensive travel to many parts of the world. It is expected that this could be up to 60% of your working time. Regular weekend work / travel is required which is given back in lieu. + Responsible for planning and booking your own travel to the destination required. This includes reporting any deviations from these standards/procedures, completing corrective actions and making recommendations to prevent similar deviations in the future. + Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations. + Maintains product and company reputation by complying with applicable regulations. + Produce detailed Risk assessments and method statements. + Develop and update site work SOP’s Qualifications & Managerial Experience + Degree qualified preferred (Engineering discipline) + Min. 10 years’ electrical / Mechanical industrial installation experience + ECS / CSCS Card (preferred) Technical Skills + Experience in Plant / Cast House Environments + Computer literacy with MS Office, Outlook and Adobe software. + Siemens / Alan Bradley Plc experience + Competent in reading both Electrical and Mechanical drawings essential + Hydraulic experience essential Behaviors + Influencing. + Must be confident and willing to travel substantially + Customer care. + Team work. + Time management – to achieve goals/standards. + Confident with good written and oral. communications skills. + Ability to work effectively under pressure – working to deadlines and be able to prioritize workload. + Team player and flexible in their work. + Able to use their own initiative and be pro-active with regards to all tasks. + Good eye for detail is essential. + Discretion and confidentiality at all times. + Taking reasonable care for your own Health and Safety and the Health and Safety of others who may be affected by your actions.
