Rate of Pay:           The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA   is $98,300.00 – 132,700.00 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Commission electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, passenger coach cars, light rail vehicles, and trainsets. Develop detailed technical testing plans for upcoming projects and create detailed test reports for vehicle qualification during the commissioning process. Identify and drive the purchase of equipment and tooling required for commissioning. Collaborate with engineering, production, scheduling, project management and quality management to streamline commissioning processes. Provide technical expertise to field service teams. Develop commissioning schedules and track progress against schedule. Contribute and communicate technical feedback to engineering to drive design corrections to meet specification requirements.

Requirements: Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 36 months of experience in the job offered or in a Commissioning Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

1.                Comparing transportation vehicle specifications using NFPA and NEC electrical codes;

2.                Reading schematics for electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machinery;

3.                Schedule testing in a project format and track its progress.

4.                3 years of experience in the transportation industry.

Telecommuting may be permissible pursuant to company policies. 30% domestic travel required.
