Dematic is looking for a Commissioning Engineer for its Circular Sortation Center of Excellence. This person will be working as a part of an international team to start up automation systems on customer sites.

In this role, you’ll be creating and optimizing C++ and PLC programs using Allen Bradley, configuring the custom database of the system, producing Safety program documentation, compiling all checklists, and on-site commissioning of sorter systems.

This role is based out of our Grand Rapids location but offers flexibility to work on a hybrid basis when not on the customer site. This role may require travel to customer sites up to 75%.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,875 - $121,550 annually at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You’ll Do In This Role:

Develop Safe PLC program based on the electrical drawings & system specification. 

Develop PLC/C program to interface the Sorter with external conveyor based on the system specification. 

Produce the Safety check list document. 

Commission the system as stand-alone (off-line commissioning) and testing the Safe PLC program in according to the safety check list. 

Integrate the sorter with the rest of the system (on-line commissioning or integration test) and test the PLC interface signal with conveyor. 

What We Are Looking For:

5+ years of technical experience in automation, industrial or material handling fields as technician or Commissioning Engineer. 

Bachelors degree or technical diploma in electronic, electrotechnics, electrical, mechatronic, Automation or IT engineering.

Willingness to travel up to 75% of time domestically and internationally.

Knowledge in programming software including Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and Siemens. C++ is not required, but is a plus.

Strong orientation to reach the targets, initiative, autonomy, and propensity to work in team.
