Commissioning Instrument Technician

KBR is seeking a meticulous and organized Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator to join our team on a large-scale multiyear LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project located in Plaquemines Parish La. As an Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator for KBR, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of the project by having a keen eye to detail, a strong understanding of instrumentation components, and the ability to coordinate and oversee walkdown teams effectively.

        Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, instrumentation specialists, and other stakeholders to plan and execute comprehensive walkdowns strategies for instrumentation.Review project documentation and specifications to understand requirements for instruments installation, calibration, and commissioning.Coordinate and schedule walkdown activities, ensuring optimal utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines.Lead walkdowns teams to physically inspect and verify the installation, placement, and functionality of instrument devices.Document and communicate any discrepancies, deviations, or issues identified during walkdowns, and ensure they are appropriately addressed and captured on punch list.Compile accurate and thorough walkdown reports, including detailed descriptions of findings, photographs evidence, and recommended actions.Support the resolution of discrepancies by coordinating with relevant teams and tracking progress through resolution.Monitor and track the completion of corrective actions resulting from walkdowns.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, electrical engineering, or related field. Relevant work experience will be considered.Proven experience (10+ years) in conducting and coordinating instrumentation walkdown activities, preferably within the energy or LNG sector.Proven experience as an Instrumentation Walkdown Coordinator or similar role in large-scale construction projects, preferably within the energy or LNG sector.Proficiency in using construction management software such as Co-Console, Smart Completion, MCplus and Microsoft Office suite.Strong understanding of construction processes, codes, standards, and regulations.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lead and coordinate teams effectively.Strong understanding of instrumentation components, installation practices and calibration procedures.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs’ and schematics.This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.
