Introduction

 

We are seeking a Heat Transfer Commissioning Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning efforts of Heat Transfer equipment, including acting as Metso lead representative on-site, advising the 'path forward' for equipment/plant commissioning activities, and troubleshooting installation and operational problems. This position requires a strong operations background and experience in equipment set-up, checkout and process commissioning. In this position, you will report to Director of Process & Technologies – Pyro.

 

This position is mainly located in North and Central America, however we are also open to other locations globally. We are pleased to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The role requires up to 80% travel.

 

 

Team you belong to

 

You will join a team of Commissioning Managers responsible for conducting process commissioning support to customers for Heat Transfer equipment. This position requires a strong operations background and experience in equipment set-up, checkout and process commissioning. The majority of the members in our team are located in York, PA.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Create Performance Test Log Sheets: Compile data, submit for customer approval and signature. Daily Records: Maintain detailed logs of construction, commissioning, performance, and punch list activities. Onsite Process Reviews: Conduct reviews of operating plants, including control strategies, data collection, analysis, and reporting recommendations for improvements. Performance Tests: Schedule lab tests and prepare reports in collaboration with customers. Manuals Creation: Develop operating and maintenance manuals for equipment and systems. Project Execution: Review P&IDs, PFDs, and vendor selections. Field Support: Provide advice and support to mechanical and electrical field service supervisors. Engineering Design: Participate in the design and review of PFDs and P&IDs for capital equipment projects. Control System Logic: Review control system logic related to process operations. Third-Party Equipment Design: Evaluate critical equipment such as fans, baghouses, scrubbers, SCR, boilers, and burner systems. Customer Relationships: Build reliable relationships where customers recognize and depend on METSO’s services. Training: Train customers and plant personnel on the safe and correct operation of equipment. Database Maintenance: Develop and maintain a database for plant start-up reports, issues, photos, operational data, and performance tests.

 

Who You Are

 

Educational Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related start-up and commissioning experience. Industry Experience: 5+ years in mining, petro-chemical, chemical, energy, or related industries, with 3+ years in process commissioning projects or operating plants. Technical Skills: Proficient in technical data analysis and review of technical documents. Ability to understand engineering drawings. Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office within the Windows operating system. Organizational Skills: Organizational skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Customer Focus: Customer focus with the ability to work collaboratively for positive outcomes. Decision Making: Quick and accurate decision-making skills for problem-solving and liability assessment. Mechanical Knowledge: Good mechanical knowledge and abilities. Environmental: Ability to work in various environments, including extreme heat, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, toxic chemicals, loud noise, all weather conditions, and high altitudes. Physical Requirements: Ability to climb and work on stairs, ladders, and scaffolding at extreme heights. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Vision and Hearing: Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to hear audible warning horns. Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain and maintain a valid USA passport.
