Commissioning Manager
Actively seeking a Commissioning Manager to oversee project portfolio of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage. This position is responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams, focusing on commissioning, start-up, and operational turnover. Responsibilities + Ensure commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhere to all safety policies. + Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM start-up personnel, third-party start-up contractors, and operations personnel on site as it relates to site commissioning and startup. + Ensure project reliability at operational turnover with minimal lost time in initial operation. + Ensure compliance with all project contractual documents, including Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utilities. + Interface with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to ensure project energization dates are achieved. + Manage on-site commissioning personnel. + Interface with designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties. + Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning means and methods, including NEC and NFPA. + Experience in SCADA integration and troubleshooting. + Experience with E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting. + Experience in protection and controls implementation and troubleshooting. + Quality control inspection and drawing review. + Progress reporting. + Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook, PDF editing, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint. + Experience in managing third parties and suppliers. + Experience in managing direct report team members. + Understanding of scheduling and planning. Additional Skills & Qualifications + +8 years’ experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction, start-up, and commissioning. + +5 years’ experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction, start-up, and commissioning. + Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues and construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues. + Ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at once. Work Environment This role involves working remotely on job sites with travel home when needed. The work environment is dynamic and requires flexibility and adaptability. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
