**Responsibilities**
Shimmick Construction is seeking the services of a qualified individual who can fulfill the role of Commissioning Authority for the Chickamauga Lock Replacement Project. This project is being performed by Shimmick for the US Army Corps of Engineers (Client) and as such any applicants must be able to pass security and background checks.
Commissioning will involve machinery, electrical, controls, fluid, civil and operations building systems to deliver a functional lock project for increased upstream and downstream movement of river traffic on the Tennessee River.
Roles and Responsibilities
+ The Commissioning Authority is responsible for overseeing the commissioning of the project in accordance with the Contract requirements.
+ The Commissioning Authority will be approved by the Client to fulfill the Commissioning Authority position on this project.
+ The Commissioning Authority will conduct commissioning meetings, including a kick-off meeting, with all involve parties
+ Lead and coordinate Shimmick and subcontractor representatives on a multi-disciplinary project team through the commissioning process.
+ Responsible for review and assembly of the project-specific commissioning plan and related checklists.
+ Responsible for conducting regular commissioning update meetings with both internal and external project stakeholders to monitor commissioning progress.
+ Responsible for coordinating the commissioning schedule and incorporating into the project schedule as necessary.
+ Responsible for developing and tracking key performance indicators, deficiencies and corrective actions as it relates to the project commissioning process.
+ Responsible for assembling project deliverables related to commissioning – including applicable O&M manuals, test reports, systems training, and other submittals.
+ Responsible for witnessing and documenting functional performance testing and retesting as necessary to confirm adherence to the project specifications.
+ Attend and actively participate in project planning discussions including daily plan of the day meetings, weekly and monthly schedule reviews and updates, commissioning meetings and three-phase quality control meetings.
+ Perform submittal reviews on commissioning-related submittals as requested by the Quality Control Manager.
+ Provide assistance to Shimmick’s Quality Control Manager as the project’s commissioning subject matter expert.
+ Responsible for any other duties assigned by project manager.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School Diploma/GED + 14 years of relevant experience or AA/AS + 12 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree + 10 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 15 years of related construction experience
+ Experience in heavy civil construction projects
+ Current OSHA 10
+ Must be detail oriented, thorough, well organized and effectively manage time
+ Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency
+ Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Additional Information:
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between **$150,000 - $160,000** per year depending on experience and/or education.
