DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker is seeking a Commissioning Manager to join the construction services team in Moon Township.  The Commissioning Manager will manage a staff and oversee the commissioning activities for wastewater treatment plants, ensuring that all systems and components of the plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements. Responsibilities include: 

Project Planning and Coordination:

Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures based on engineers testing parameters and contractors commissioning schedule. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities. Review design documents and specifications to ensure they meet commissioning requirements. Manage and status commissioning deliverables including but not limited to Operations and Maintenance Manuals, test certifications, fabrication status, calibration reports and other items related to commissioning and start up Manage commissioning deliverable status during construction phase Facilitate and manage pre commissioning kickoff meeting and regularly scheduled commissioning meetings with contractors, owner and third-party integrators to status tasks and milestone leading up to and during commissioning activities Manage status, installation and delivery of new assets and spare parts 

System Testing and Validation:

Verify and certify that all equipment and plant systems has been installed properly leading up to acceptance and performance testing.. Verify all plant systems and equipment has been tested and signed off by the engineer  Verify the performance of mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Ensure all systems meet regulatory and safety standards. 

Documentation and Reporting:

Document all site commissioning activities and, collect for inclusion in the Final Commissioning report all relative documentation including test results and compliance documentation. Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities and issues. Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on commissioning progress. 

Training and Support:

Coordinate with contractor’s vendors and facilitate training of plant operators and maintenance personnel on new systems and equipment. Provide support during the initial operation phase. Deliver training materials and operational manuals. 

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to quality management systems.  Identify and resolve any issues or defects in the systems. Conduct final inspections and handover to operations teams.

 

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process or related field). 5+ years of experience in commissioning water/wastewater treatment plants or similar facilities. Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using commissioning software and tools. Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Commissioning (CCP) is a plus.

COMPENSATION 

The approximate compensation range for this position is $119,040 to $186,560. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
