Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is GROWING in our NEW FACILITY in Lexington, NC.  We are looking to hire Commodity Managers who will drive the development and implementation of a procurement strategy.  You will proactively engage the business and cross functional partners to ensure alignment with business requirements, early procurement, and supplier involvement.  You will also be responsible for achieving financial and non-financial targets by applying relevant procurement levers, (i.e. negotiations, supplier management, contract management, and delivery reliability).  Learn what a day will be like and more…

What your day-to-day will look like:

·       Lead the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of assigned commodities.

·       Establish best in class supply-chain-management processes focused on productivity, quality and availability

·       Derive innovative material field strategies based on market intelligence, gear procurement processes towards strategic objectives. Ensure implementation and development of Siemens strategy, for assigned commodities.

·       Initiate, plan, implement and control the demand and supplier management to improve the contribution to operating profit and total cost of ownership from materials.

·       Deliver results by implementing measures to ensure most value for Siemens within the own responsibility for a Purchasing Volume.

·       Drive application of technical levers for sustainable cost and value optimization.

·       Drive supplier management processes to obtain the best suppliers and ensure transparency and early integration.

·       Lead supplier management in commercial issues, supplier qualification, development and overall relationship management

·       Apply supply market intelligence and Commercial & Technical Levers to drive best in class total cost of ownership.

·       Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to commodity management and procurement.

To thrive in this role, you have:

·       Bachelor's degree in business, economics or engineering

·       7+ years of overall experience related to Strategic Procurement

·       Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Suite with exceptional skills in Excel & working with large data sets.

·       Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communications skills

·       Demonstrated understanding of entire supply chain and cost drivers

·       Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability

·       Record of success in developing and implementing sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and supply chain improvements.

·       Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable contract terms and agreements.

·       Knowledge of supply chain principles, supplier risk management, and regulatory compliance.

·       15-25% travel required

·       Setting you apart from others would be successful negotiations experiences along with experience with electronic purchasing tools, SAP, cross functional project management, facilitation skills (internal and external) and solid continuous improvement skills.  Demonstrated knowledge of category management concept or strategic sourcing concepts, experience in Siemens business systems and CPM, CPSM certification would be a strong plus.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $109,100 - $128,100 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
