Commodity Manager, Indirect Procurement – Automation and MRO
Reporting to EMEA Commodity Management, in this role you will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of regional strategies and sourcing activities to provide Flex segments and business groups with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. Working closely with the Global team / Local Management, the Commodity Manager Indirect – Automation and MRO will communicate and implement strategies, contracts, and pricing to the region with an overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and costs to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company and its customers.
What a typical day looks like:
Establish and manage long term strategic relationships with core suppliers, drive engagement with Flex sites and business units.Guide the commercial selection, development and management of Core and Strategic Suppliers to meet Operation Integrations and Components costs and performance goals.Deploy programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management and supply base optimization.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders, communicating regularly with other departments to ensure smooth operations as well to ensure timely manufacturing ramp on new programs.Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement, and communicate strategical and tactical commodity plans internally and to Flex customers as appropriate.Provide access to leading technology, product roadmaps, technology strategies and industry trends.Provide point of escalation for Commodity issues as appropriate.Participate in the review of supplier contracts, outlining requirements and considerations.Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems to optimize supply chain operations, adhering to our compliance standards.Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the productHigh level participation in daily procurement activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.Be able to track, document, and communicate SOW changes to Supplier and Stakeholders on a fast-paced environmentDrive cost reduction/improvement negotiations considering a Total Cost of Ownership approach.The experience we're looking to add to our team:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent related operational experience Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in procurement field Engineering (manufacturing unit) experience with commercial background Strong knowledge of manufacturing processesManufacturing and Customer-facing experience including managementStrategic Supplier Development Confident in Contract Negotiation Advanced EnglishAbility to interface and communicate with different levels of the organizationExtensive Office knowledge (Advanced Excel & PPT)Automation background is a plusWhat you’ll receive for the great work you provide:
