Description
Lindsey McCarthy with Robert Half is on the lookout for a proficient Commodity Manager to become a part of their client's team. Situated in Dunkirk, New York, this role involves the strategic development and execution of commodity and sourcing strategies within the HVAC division. The Commodity Manager will be tasked with enhancing cost efficiency, optimizing inventory, and reducing material expenses.
Responsibilities:
• Formulate and implement commodity strategies, including contract negotiations, cost optimization, and risk mitigation for designated commodities
• Regularly conduct market analysis and resource sourcing, implementing risk mitigation and supply continuity strategies
• Consolidate the existing supply chain, creating a preferred supplier list to enhance quality, reliability, and reduce cost and cycle time
• Conduct Business Reviews on a quarterly and annual basis, using Supply chain KPIs
• Collaborate with the R& D Team during the early stages of the new product introduction (NPI) process, assisting through volume production
• Work closely with engineering to identify new supply sources and make selections for new products during the development phase
• Liaise with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, etc., to solve any material issues that could affect production
• Strive for year-over-year cost reduction, containment, and optimization for assigned commodities to meet business objectives
• Lead the process of supplier selection and source activities, including the development of selection criteria
• Utilize your skills in Strategic Sourcing Analysis and implementation, negotiation, and administration of contracts
Requirements
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Knowledge of various ERP Solutions
• Experience with budget processes
• Familiarity with buying processes
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to manage and process invoices.
