We have an opportunity for a Commodity Manager – Molding to join our Global Strategic Sourcing team. You will manage supplier relationships to ensure strategic alignment and sustainability and oversee suppliers to continuously improve quality, delivery, and price to support supply chain operations. This will include supporting the development of the molding sourcing strategy, developing new suppliers, identifying driving productivity, mitigating supply chain risks, networking with Pentair’s sites to build a strong project funnel, and supporting new product development and value engineering.

You will:

Partner with key stakeholders to create and deploy a sourcing strategy to drive world class molding supply chain performance, align supply chain commodities and strategy to objectives for sustaining production, new product development and introduction, and research & development activities.Create and manage strategic supplier partnerships to ensure continuous performance expectations are met and year-over-year productivity targets are achieved by conducting appropriate supplier management techniques.Lead key negotiations and contract development, develop tools for asset management, support strategic sourcing and VAVE initiatives and drive project implementations with functional groups and suppliers.Early engage in new product development (NPD) phase, identify, and mitigate supply chain risks, meet target costs, and support new product launch on time.Understand tooling quotation process, cost driver in tooling design, molding market and supplier base thoroughly while working closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.Build partnerships and develop relationships with key players in the molding markets, function as subject matter expert for molding and various molding manufacturing processes in both the technical aspects and overall industry knowledge both in molding and associated resins market.

Key Qualifications: 

Have earned a bachelor’s (B.A. or B.S.) degree. Business or Engineering degree preferred.Have 5+ years of strategic sourcing experience with considerable understanding of procurement concepts, principles, and practices. This will include 4+ years of sourcing experience in plastics molding.Demonstrated experience and results in negotiating with suppliers on master supply agreements, inventory agreements etc.

Travel:

20-30% of the time to meet with suppliers, manufacturing sites, and/or other business-related meetings.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $82300 - $152800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as annual incentive bonus.
