Requisition Summary
Work in a team-oriented environment to manage the procurement of maintenance, repair and operational (MRO) products and manufacturing support services (MSS) used by PACCAR Engine Company. PACCAR Commodity Managers are change agents, focused on delivering the highest value to internal/external customers at the lowest total cost.
Job Function/Responsibilities:
+ Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.
+ Investigate and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies and logistical opportunities.
+ Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels.
+ Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies, and resolve chronic supply and quality issues.
+ Manage day to day relationships with suppliers of MSS & MRO products and services, including the commercial and contractual requirements with respect to total cost, quality, delivery and customer service.
+ Support corporate MSS & MRO Commodity Managers to develop agreements that support PACCAR’s operations and manage agreements specific to PEC.
+ Support corporate MSS & MRO Commodity Managers to identify areas of opportunity to consolidate and streamline purchasing related activities being conducted at other PACCAR locations divisions.
+ Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.
+ Maintain supplier database and coordinate supplier communications
+ Special projects as assigned.
Required Education and Skills:
+ Undergraduate bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Finance, or related field required. Graduate level degree (e.g. MBA) a plus.
+ Minimum 3 years of purchasing, engineering, operations, or related business experience required
+ Experience with Production or MRO purchasing, manufacturing, and/or supply chain management
+ Proven negotiation and strong analytical skills
+ Creative, quality, and results-driven work ethic
+ Team Player that is self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision while maintaining a professional manner in appearance and communication at all times.
+ Demonstrated leadership to accomplish company goals
+ Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, & presentation
+ PC skills (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
+ Ability to develop Return on Investment Analysis
