Requirements
The O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law was established in 2007 through the generous philanthropy of Linda and Timothy O’Neill to respond to the need for innovative solutions to the most pressing global health concerns. In bringing together experts from both the public health and legal fields, the O’Neill Institute reflects the importance of public and private law in health policy analysis. Housed at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., the O’Neill Institute draws upon Georgetown’s considerable intellectual resources, including the School of Nursing and Health Studies, the School of Medicine, the McCourt School of Public Policy, and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics.
The Communication and Events Coordinator will support event planning and execution, content creation and distribution across a range of platforms, and outreach activities that build brand awareness. This position will provide general communications assistance to support the organization’s central mission and goals, including maintaining contact and publication databases, monitoring media requests, and tracking Communications KPIs. In addition, the incumbent will plan, coordinate, publicize, and implement special events such as social events, conferences, and meetings.

The Communications and Events Coordinator will report to the Director of Strategic Communications. In addition, this position will regularly engage with members of the O’Neill Institute’s staff.
Requirements and Qualifications
B.A. degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field
Minimum 1-2 years professional experience
Positive and friendly personality
Collaborative spirit with solid relationship-building skills across all levels of an organization
Detailed-oriented with superior organizational skills
Creative thinking and problem-solving self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
Exceptional at handling multiple tasks with competing priorities
Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
Excellent time management
Experience creating content for social media and newsletters
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications
Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
Experience with Airtable and Slack
Experience with WordPress
Experience using marketing tools like Canva, Sendible, and Mailchimp

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$44,022.00 - $73,406.80Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
