Communications Analyst

The Communication Analyst will provide networking and telecommunications support to the Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST).  This individual will need to be a self-starter, adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.  This individual will have significant logistics management responsibilities, be responsible for day-to-day operations as well as be responsible for the readiness of multiple communications suites.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance Bachelor’s degree in a computer or engineering related field or equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. Possess relevant technical certifications. Understanding of telecom infrastructure design and construction. Advanced knowledge of telecom hardware and software integration and testing. Advanced knowledge of hardware and telecom operating systems including system architectures, network infrastructures, and client server principles. Advanced knowledge of cellular and VoIP telephone applications, security, and data use controls. Ability to communicate problems and translate them into technical solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage frequent interruptions and change priorities calmly; complete assignments without established procedures; be available dependable, and punctual; and act as a facilitator when needed. High level written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience with the Department of Energy. Experience with complex classified networking and computing solutions.

LOCATION:  This is a full-time position.  Possibility of remote, hybrid or onsite.

SALARY: Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
