Job Summary:Gategroup is hiring now for a Communications and Engagement Manager, Europe to manage and coordinate the communication of both internal and external content across the region ensuring a positive two-way dialogue which helps drive the company business plan. In this role you will take the lead on all regional social media to promote positive engagement, internal events such as recognition, Town Halls, and other announcements. Working with both the regional team and company communications you will ensure consistency in messaging and promotion of campaigns or client, customer engagement plans. You will be responsible for generating content and be proactive across the region to report news and play an integrated part of the regional crisis team working as required with defined company media and internal stakeholders.The role reports into the President for Europe region with a dotted line to the Global Head of Communications. The role could be based in the UK, Belgium, or Germany and as part of the role you would require flexibility to be able to travel significantly across the region as required.Main Duties and Responsibilities:InternalSet up and ownership plus maintenance of the regional/vertical hub (L1 as per Group Comms framework), its content, and its relevant communications network.Ensuring proactive working with local engagement and comms champions in each countryRegular sourcing and posting of relevant news content from their region to the hub and working with Group to source and promote content from their region and L2 hubs to Group, and vice-versa.Working collaboratively with regional communication champions, HR and country MD’s to ensure proactive and effective communications taking into consideration agreed messaging, and country timelines and prioritization.Create, implement, and coordinate regional comms champions to reflect priority groups.Producing regular regional newsletters using company toolsLocalization of group content to the region and vice-versaManagement and dissemination of regional townhalls, hotlinesPreparation of presentations and communication material for regional plans enable engagement and delivery of defined actions and standards.Promoting through all forms of communication employee recognition initiatives with an aim of maximizing usage and improving awareness, improved retention.Preparation of employee welcome briefing materials for new business / contract winsManage filming for resourcing and training as defined and agreed with regional team.Set up and ensure ownership of regional Share point track content and drive usage to streamline and ensure consistent messaging.ExternalActing as regional point of contact for media requests, leading on messaging, and managing responses ensuring approvals gained regional and appropriate to group communications.Working with local media agencies and group comms to conduct media events/tours/interviews to ensure consistent and accurate message with required approvals.CrisisKeep Group communications informed of any potential crises in a timely fashion as defined by Regional HRO and President EuropeAct as liaison between the local crisis team, leadership, agencies, and group with defined and agreed coordination according to BCP plan.Ensuring alignment with regional team and CPO to ensure unions and other internal and external factors are built into timelines and messaging.EVPWork with Resourcing Manager to build and manage regional LinkedIn posting and content.Define, manage, and promote regional comms plan working with country leads, SME’s and manages to ensure positive promotion of undertakings. Ensure appropriate employee engagement content production and sharing.QualificationsEducation:Educated to graduate degree level.Strong English skills - verbal and written, other languages e.g. Dutch or German are a definite plus.Work Experience: Previous experience in similar role within a fast paced matrix organisation.Strong expertise and understanding of brand management and communication.Proven experience in managing end to end tasks to deliver comms projects and change management, stakeholder engagement, or related roles.Experience in organizing community events such as public participation and information workshops.Skills & Knowledge:Excellent computer skills (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, video content creation software, etc.)Ability to manage multiple assignments and timelines, identify project interdependencies, resource needs and potential risks.Strong work ethics and ability to work under pressure, while delivering business results.Strong communication skills, ability to build relationships, motivate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Creative thinker with Strong copywriting & editorial skillsExceptional interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships and trust with a wide variety of stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability of presenting to a wide range of project stakeholders / audience.Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage complex project issues, managing time, setting priorities, and organising the complex logistics of engagement activities and outputs.Solid understanding of both the underlying principles and practices of community engagement including being able to communicate the importance of community engagement in project delivery.Self-motivated and confident in taking initiative, making recommendations, and challenging teams.Strong organisation skills, team player and good attention to detailOther:All applicants must have the right to work in the UK, undertake a CRC (Criminal Record Check) and provide 5 years of checkable referencing history.
