Communications and Operations Coordinator, NEEFC

The University of Southern Maine’s New England Environmental Finance Center (NEEFC) seeks a Communication and Operations Coordinator to join their team.
The New England Environmental Finance Center (https://neefc.org/) (NEEFC) has been building community capacity as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Environmental Finance Center (https://www.epa.gov/waterfinancecenter/efcn) since 2001, helping states, tribes, local governments, utilities, nonprofits, community-based organizations, and the private sector identify, fund, and finance critical environmental and infrastructure needs.
The Communications & Operations Coordinator (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Zr1e8T9txcnC8CeQSsWJl-EAugLalRQw/view?usp=sharing) will support the work of the NEEFC team by providing communications capacity (website, outreach materials, events/webinars), coordinating the team’s operations and administrative needs, and supporting projects as needed across NEEFC’s diverse portfolio. This position will work with the entire NEEFC team and coordinate with other Catherine Cutler Institute staff and external partners. This role will require occasional travel, largely within New England, and is supported by federal grants.
This is a full-time, soft-money (grant) funded position with a starting annual salary of $54,000. This position will be based primarily on our Portland Campus.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree and professional experience in communications, operations, marketing, public relations, community engagement, environmental policy/advocacy/management, or another relevant field.
+ Excellent written, verbal, and visual communications skills.
+ The ability to distill complex ideas into accessible and understandable communications in a range of formats.
