Project Summary:

The Rapid Response Activity is an ongoing project that seeks to improve stability in conflict affected areas, particularly the northern West Bank. It aims to alleviate grievances, to strengthen communities’ abilities to withstand shocks and stressors, and to provide opportunities for youth impacted by violence and conflict. Managed under the GISR MENA mechanism, the activity operates to respond to immediate and emergent needs, to improve short-term stability in specific geographic areas that have recently emerged as flashpoints.

Position Summary:

The Communications and Outreach Associate (COA) will work on two levels: 1) supporting grantees and other partners communicate their successes and other messages to communities and 2) helping to respond to Local Priorities communicate its achievements, successes, and analysis to USAID and other external audiences. The COA will report directly to The Communications and Outreach Specialist based in Ramallah and will also support the West Bank Rapid Response (WB RR) teams located in the northern West Bank in identifying, communication content and opportunities based on grant and non-grant activities. The position will require creativity and the ability to use various communications tools, especially multimedia and social media. The position is junior level position. The selected candidate can be based in Ramallah, Jenin, Tulkarem, or Nablus.

 

Responsibilities:

Monitor media coverage of key events and developments. Identify and document success stories from the field, highlighting impactful outcomes and individual achievements in coordination with Field Specialists. Capture photographs during events and activities to support storytelling and promotional efforts. Record and edit short, engaging videos that showcase project milestones, partner activities, and success stories. Create and edit content for various social media platforms, ensuring it aligns with the organization’s messaging and branding guidelines. Write simple reports from the field, capturing the essence of events, activities, and interactions with stakeholders. Track branding with proper USAID logo on all printed and purchased items in coordination with the Communication and Outreach Specialist, ensuring all activities are visually aligned with the organization’s brand guidelines. Provide logistical and communication support to partners during on-ground activities, ensuring smooth operations.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, PR, eMarketing, multimedia, or any other related fields required. Minimum one year of experience required. Knowledge of different social media platforms. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and be comfortable working in dynamic, on-ground environments. Ability to engage diverse audiences through various media channels. Strong writing, editing, attention to detail, and communication skills required. Fluency in English and Arabic required.
