Communications and Web Manager, National Security Policy Center, Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy

The Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia is accepting applications for a Communications and Web Manager for a newly established Institute in national security and intelligence. This position will be responsible for the project management of creating a new multi-faceted website and content to support the mission of the National Security Data & Policy Institute. This team member will also participate in events planning, programming and the promotion of national security centered activities across the University.

Responsibilities include:

Manage a wide variety of communications activities via digital and web platformsProactively manage media relations, handling incoming inquiries, as well as fostering ongoing relationships. Maintain an established network of UVA/internal and external communications relationshipsCoordinate with faculty and staff on publication projects, media appearances, public presentations, marketing activities, and initiatives Manage ongoing and special events, coordinating exhibitions, logistics, agendas, staff, speaker arrangements, external promotions, and post-event reportsCoordinate with the vendor to build out a new multifaceted websiteEstablish a public events and publications calendarIn addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degreeAt least 3 years of experienceExceptional communication skillsExperience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with remote team members is preferred.

This position is located in Charlottesville, VA, with the opportunity for a hybrid working schedule. This position is a 2-year restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.

Anticipated Hiring Range: $55,000-$65,000 commensurate with education and experience. This is an exempt-level, benefited position. For more information on the benefits at UVA, visit hr.virginia.edu/benefits.
