Communications Center Operations Manager
Job Title: Communications Center Operations Manager Salary: $110,592 Department: Operations Reports to: Vice President of Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary: The Communications Center Operations Manager leads a Frontline AATC Team within the central communications and command center at the airport in the AATC area. Secondary responsibilities include oversight of the AATC Lost and Found Department and the management of an off-site employee parking facility. This Manager also provides incremental support for the overall day-to-day operation of the larger AATC team that supports the safe, secure, and efficient use of the facility by passengers and employees. The airport and AATC team operate in a fast-paced 24-hour-a-day environment. The Communications Center Operations Manager develops and implements strategies and procedures to maximize performance within the AATC Communications Center. Performance focuses on effective, timely and accurate communications among all airport tenants and contract holders. Communication centers around key operational issues that must be addressed and handled quickly. Communication is both internal and external to the organization. This position will be responsible for maintaining financial discipline that applies to the overall departmental budget. The Communications Center Operations Manager will also be responsible for overseeing staffing, training, scheduling, and accountability of all levels of the Communications Center team and Lost and Found Department. The Communications Center Operations Manager will represent AATC as a point of contact for all various agencies within the airport community including the Department of Aviation, Airport Regulatory Agencies, Airlines, as well as provide relevant communication to the internal AATC team. Responsibilities: + Lead and manage the Communications Center Team and Lost and Found Department through effective communication, empowerment, and coaching techniques. Includes training, motivation, process design, performance appraisals, and adherence to company policy. + Improving operational efficiencies and performance through analytics, processes, accountability, and communication with key stakeholders to drive results. + Ensure clear responsibility and ownership for monitoring & resolution of concerns within the Communications Center. When warranted, serve as the AATC representative, and assume a corporate leadership role for key operational situations. + Participate in identification, planning, and implementation of initiatives to improve the Communications Center Organization and the Lost and Found Department. + Represent AATC as required, including attendance at assigned meetings, airport functions, and industry events. + Assist with budget planning and manage the Communications Center budget. + Must always ensure proper staffing and coverage for the Communications Center Groups and Lost and Found Department. Qualifications and Requirements: + Must be able to pass requirements for approval for an ATL badge with customs seal. This includes a 10-year background search by fingerprint analysis. + Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of similar experience in lieu of a college degree. + 5 years of Operations management experience that involved mentoring and professional staff development. + Experience within an operational control organization, airport / airline command center operations or call center operations. + Advance skills in MS Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint, and can clearly present and articulate ideas. + Must be available twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week to provide support during planned or emergency situations or events to include being physically on site if deemed necessary. + Scheduled hours will potentially include evening hours and weekend days. + Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
