Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Communications Coordinator. - Boca Raton, FL.
The Institute for Sensing and Embedded Network Systems Engineering (I-SENSE) Communications Coordinator will support the Institute’s communication strategy across various channels, including digital, social media, and traditional marketing. The position supports all Institute faculty and affiliated research centers, including FAU’s Center for Connected Autonomy and Artificial Intelligence, the NSF ERC for Smart Streetscapes, and the FPL Center for Intelligent Energy Technologies. The position reports to the Executive Director.
I-SENSE leads university-wide activities in Sensing and Smart Systems, one of Florida Atlantic’s areas of strategic research emphasis. The Institute serves as an innovation hub for sensing, computing, FutureG wireless, AI/GenAI, connected autonomy, robotics, cryptography, and digital twins. The Institute’s mission is to catalyze a culture of research excellence in Sensing and Smart Systems; to develop, demonstrate, and operate technological solutions with high societal impact; and to attract and support future generations of interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners.
Summary of responsibilities:
Storytelling and audience engagement across digital platforms, including web, social and email
Maintaining brand consistency across platforms to promote the institute/centers and engage with stakeholder groups.
Incorporating audience engagement, social listening, and data analytics tools to inform strategy across enterprise-owned digital platforms.
Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of communication campaigns across various channels, including digital, social media, and traditional marketing.
Coordinate the creation and distribution of marketing materials, such as newsletters, brochures, flyers, and promotional items.
Manage and update associated social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and monitoring engagement.
Edit and update website content, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand guidelines.
Coordinate website updates, including adding new pages, updating images and videos, and improving user experience.
Conduct regular website audits to identify and fix any issues related to functionality, usability, or performance.
Collaborate with internal teams and departments to ensure seamless integration of marketing initiatives and website updates.
Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
Analyze marketing data and provide reports on campaign performance, website traffic, and social media metrics.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in marketing and website editing.
Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.Demonstrated track record of increasing audience required.
Journalism and Storytelling required.
Knowledge of science & engineering related publications and editing skills required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), Google Drive, social media, and editorial software required.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills required.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills required.
Salary:
