The Communications Coordinator plays a key role in increasing visibility for our Am Law 100 diversified law firm of more than 1000 attorneys, policy advisors, and professionals across more than 30 offices serving clients in more than 100 practice areas. This position will report to the firm’s Senior Communications Coordinator.

A Day in the Life

As the Communications Coordinator, you will support marketing and business development efforts and assist with various PR initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include drafting and distributing press releases, working with new attorneys to prepare personal marketing materials such as bios and client announcements, and writing feature stories for both internal and external use. You will also monitor media coverage and research emerging trends and topics, update the intranet and website, and assist in posting attorney-authored articles, blogs, alerts, and other related externally published materials. Additionally, you will work with the firm’s events team to leverage PR opportunities in connection with upcoming conferences and other speaking engagements, collaborate with the firm’s digital team to generate social media content and ideas, and develop and maintain media relationships.

We Know You

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree and have over two years of experience in communications and/or journalism, legal industry experience is preferred. They should demonstrate excellent writing and editing skills, including a working knowledge of AP style. Strong time management skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to work on tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. The candidate should also have strong project management and organizational skills, a professional demeanor, and a problem-solving attitude, with the ability to provide tactful and honest feedback. Adaptability to various environments and audiences is crucial. Experience with programs such as Meltwater, Vuture, and Wordpress is required, along with the ability to manage website content through content management systems.
