About the Position
Position is primarily responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of all communications between GHA staff and administration with GHA residents. Communication includes but is not limited to: print and digital sources, computer/technology sources, and signage throughout the GHA campus. This position will also be called upon to assist in supporting the events and programs of the Life Enrichment department as needed.
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday with flexible hours between 7am-7pm. Some Saturdays may be needed.
Responsibilities
+ Independently designs, produces, and coordinates the distribution of all communication materials for internal use throughout GHA in collaboration with the Executive Assistant:
o Produces monthly calendar, birthday list, and coordinates monthly new-comer bio publication with resident volunteers.
o Produces weekly newsletter (the Gazette) to include feature and news articles by team members and residents and the weekly schedule of programs and events in accordance with organizational guidelines. Also produces quarterly Miscellany (publication of resident stories).
o Produces semi-annual resident and team member directory.
o Coordinates recording of events and programs.
o Coordinates photography for print and other public use (social media) by GHA team member and administration. Assures photography use notification board is posted during events.
o Ensures accuracy and compatibility of all information distributed to GHA residents.
+ Maintains and operates GHA’s internal resident communication system (“Uniguest) and serves as the liaison for the system with the manufacturer. Also builds, coordinates, and maintains a sustainable Uniguest training program for residents and team members.
+ Coordinates volunteer program and processes paperwork including all forms, communications, assignments to appropriate team(s), and volunteer appreciation events.
+ Is the team member liaison for Communications Committee monthly meeting, Book Club, and Creative Writing club.
+ Oversees resident garden boxes and maintains the list of garden box owners.
+ Coordinates daily updates and information exchanges with reception team members.
+ Supports the planning and execution of department programs and events for residents as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Direct work experience required with professional communication function, newsletters, social media, and coordination of internal information.
+ Bachelor’s degree in communication, media design, or related field highly preferred.
+ Experience with communications systems or software programs used for older adult population highly preferred, e.g., InDesign or Publisher.
+ Excellent proofreading and editorial skills required.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
+ High proficiency with MS Office and office machines/technology required.
+ Experience in working with older adults highly preferred.
