As a Communications Lead at HoneyBook, you'll play a vital role in shaping and delivering our company's narrative across multiple channels. You'll be responsible for executing comprehensive communication strategies that strengthen our brand presence, engage our community, and enhance our industry position. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help implement and maintain communication processes for crisis management, internal communications, and executive communications.

Your success will be measured through share of voice, impressions, and NPS scores, reflecting your ability to drive engagement and maintain a consistent brand narrative across all touchpoints.

 

Here are a few of the things you will do:

Strategic Communications Planning

Execute corporate, business, and technology narratives that align with HoneyBook's vision and mission. Develop messaging frameworks and collateral to support key campaigns and initiatives.

Monitor Industry Trends

Stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and emerging technologies. Analyze trends to identify new opportunities for storytelling and media engagement. Leverage insights to adapt and refine communications strategies, ensuring they remain relevant and impactful. Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on key industry shifts and their implications for HoneyBook.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with marketing, product, and executive leadership teams to ensure messaging consistency across all touchpoints. Support integrated communication plans across different business units. Collaborate with the People team on internal communications initiatives, fostering employee engagement and alignment.

Media & Public Relations

Drive media relations efforts with business, technology, and broadcast reporters. Craft press releases, pitches, and briefing documents. Build and maintain relationships with B2B influencers and media contacts. Secure high-quality media coverage that authentically represents HoneyBook’s vision and achievements. Identify and pitch HoneyBook and employees for awards and recognition opportunities to elevate the company’s brand and thought leadership.

Leadership Communications Support

Provide strategic communications counsel to team leads and executives. Support speaking engagements, panel opportunities, and media training. Prepare detailed briefing materials, talking points, and presentations for key initiatives.

Content Development & Crisis Management

Create proactive content, including Op-Eds, blogs, company statements, and customer stories in collaboration with the content team. Develop and execute crisis communications plans, ensuring rapid responses to sensitive issues or industry developments. Draft FAQs and communication materials to address various stakeholder concerns effectively.

Employer Brand Development

Partner with internal teams to promote HoneyBook as an employer of choice by amplifying employee stories and fostering thought leadership. Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement through storytelling and targeted communications strategies.

Here is what is needed:

7+ years of marketing communications experience, with focus on high-growth startups Experience in both agency and in-house communications roles preferred Proven track record in media relations and securing press coverage Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities Excellent writing and editing capabilities across various formats Experience in supporting executive communications and event management Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
