Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Job Description** The Enterprise Strategy Division (ESD) **Communications Leader** works closely with key business partners to plan, develop and execute communications in support of our Enterprise Strategy. In addition, this role serves as a strategic communicators advisor and thought partner for our Senior Vice President of the Enterprise Strategy Division. The ideal candidate will be skilled at building a strong network across a complex, global matrix to ensure consensus and drive effective communication of key business initiatives. **What you will do:** + Strategy Communications – Collaborate with colleagues from across Caterpillar to create communications plans and deliverables that are aligned to enterprise strategy and related initiatives; Develop relationships with business unit communicators, leaders and SMEs; Review internal and external talking points and presentations from an enterprise POV; Advise on communication formats to ensure clarity and accuracy of message + Executive Communications – Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the SVP of ESD; Develop and implement an annual communications strategy to establish the SVP of ESD’s voice to their employees and to promote the Division across the enterprise; Create effective presentations for internal, dealer and external audiences; Contributes to the overall strategic business goals and plans of ESD + ESD Division Communications – Own, execute and continuously improve internal communications for the Enterprise Strategy Division + Deliverables to Include – Communications strategies and plans; key messages; presentations for internal and external audiences; video scripts; internal articles; meeting execution including prep, agenda development, logistics and content; LinkedIn posts **What you will have:** + Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective communications planning techniques and ability to contribute to strategic planning in support of the overall business plan. + Communicating Complex Concepts: The ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience. + Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. + Interpersonal Relationships: The ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner. + Effective Presentations: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques; Defines and organizes the content and flow of a multi-media, multi-speaker presentation; Prepares complex presentations to large or critical technical and business audiences; Coaches others in all aspects of preparing and giving a formal presentation. + Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. + Copywriting and Editing: Able to effectively write, review and edit texts and documents. **Top Candidates will have:** + Experience delivering strategies and communications that effectively support change initiatives and alignment to organizational/business goals. + Experience as a strategic communications advisor to C-level executives including writing communications and developing presentations. + A proven ability to thrive within a complex, matrixed environment. **Additional Details:** + Caterpillar currently operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a minimum of three days per week of onsite, in office work. + Some limited travel may be required. **About Caterpillar** Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives.
