Who we are looking for:
We’re looking for an experienced, dynamic, strategically focused Communications Manager to join Amex GBT’s Global Sales Enablement team for a fixed-term project.
In this role, you will be at the beating heart of a major acquisition integration project that involves welcoming new frontline operational service teams around the world into our organization. You will skillfully guide them through this change, making sure they embrace new ideas, technology, and processes as they integrate into the Amex GBT working model. Working closely with other communication colleagues as well as operations, technology, commercial and learning and development teams, you will identify communication needs and then develop and execute multi-media, multi-channel plans to address them.
During this 12-month fixed-term contract you will fully immerse yourself in one core project. Your responsibilities will involve:
Working closely with the integration team to identify the change journeys for different audiences in the operational service organization.
Collaborating with other acquisition integration workstreams to make sure there is a cohesive message and journey, across all audiences (internal, external).
Building a communication strategy to successfully guide impacted individuals through the change journey.
Creating a project workstream plan to deliver the communication strategy.
Delivering the workstream plan by:
Developing narrative structures to tie multiple complex changes and activities into one cohesive story/vision.
Creating/writing compelling multi-channel communication collateral required for the integration; working with subject experts to understand the customer, commercial and operational considerations.
Identifying the appropriate audience, timing, and communication channels for communications such as email, intranet, content management systems, workforce management system, meeting/briefings etc.
Identifying ways of working with channel owners to support communication delivery.
Securing necessary approvals for all communication deliverables with relevant stakeholders.
Advise, promote, and develop best practice approaches/tools and enhancements to current communications framework, to ensure communications are received in an impactful, effective and digestible way.
Championing the operational organization in every conversation to ensure all workstreams are delivering the best solution.
Identifying dependencies and collaboration opportunities between workstreams to remove silos and enhance efficient working practices.
Regularly reporting project status updates to internal stakeholders including senior leadership.
Who you are:
Constantly curious, you thrive in a global, complex, matrixed environment and focusing on one project with many moving parts. You take pleasure in creating order and simplicity from a sometimes-obscure brief and owning a whole project from beginning to end. You will be confident working independently and if you encounter a knowledge-gap your instinctive reaction is to say, “I don’t know but I will find out/learn”.
What we can offer you:
To be part of one of the most exciting transformation projects in the business travel industry. You will be part of a knowledgeable, supportive team who will provide guidance and support, sharing our experience to help you navigate the organization and the project.
A development focused environment which allows you to push the boundaries of your hard and soft skills and encourages career development.
An encompassing experience of working for a global organization that allows you to work and build relationships across a diverse range of business verticals, countries, cultures, executive levels, and skill levels.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Strategic thinker with an operational focus, problem-solver, discrete, with the ability to develop go-forward plans for managing change and communications initiatives.
Understanding of the role of communications and change management in colleague engagement, including a strong ability to write well, quickly, and accurately, translating complex ideas into engaging content that resonates with your audiences.
Experience and understanding of the complexities in communicating to colleagues in a global, matrixed organization.
Confident and engaging manner in hosting/presenting to large (virtual) internal audiences.
Skilled in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Smartsheet) and other technology platforms (intranet, sales enablement tools, Zoom) and use them to maximum effect to achieve our communication and change management objectives.
Resilience and flexibility; you’re a self-starter who can handle an unclear brief and challenging deadlines, and wants to be part of a busy, high-performing global sales enablement team.
Have experience of M&A, client migration and/or integration projects.
