The Public Safety Manager - Dispatch is responsible for managing the Public Safety dispatch supervisors, and team of dispatchers. Oversees the communications center employees and processes and manages day to day operation of the communication center.

What you will do:

Manage public safety dispatch staff by assigning/directing work, conducting employee evaluation, staff training and development, and taking appropriate disciplinary/corrective actions for subordinate personnel.

Develop policies and procedures, short- and long-term objectives.

Analyze workflow, data and technology including existing or new communications technologies/methods and budgetary proposals and makes written and verbal recommendations to improve efficiency.

Communicate with outside agency personnel, and other emergency service providers in order to ensure proper emergency services to the GCU community and compliance with communications procedures/regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

What you need:

High school diploma, or equivalent

Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree preferably in criminal/police science or public administration preferred.

Must pass background checks.

Must have valid driver’s license and driving record must meet the university Minimum 5 years’ experience in a communications call center environment with 2 years’ experience in a 24-hour emergency communication center.

Minimum 3 years’ experience in supervisory practices and principles.

Training certification in a police dispatch discipline preferred.
