Communications Manager
POSITION: Communications Manager DEPARTMENT: Executive Office REPORTS TO: General Manager FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt Summary ASM Global, LLC, the global leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Communications Manager position for ASM Global/Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Expo Center. The selected person will direct and manage social and electronic content programs, issue management communications efforts to stakeholders, market efforts for assigned events, and help manage customer relations programs across all venues. The selected candidate will also help drive company engagement by managing the employee incentive program. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Primary point of contact for internal employee and external partner/client communications. + Produce and edit professional communications which deliver persuasive impact and clarity of message for both internal and external customers. + Ensure company policies and updates are properly communicated company wide. + Maintain and develop content specific to an internal digital display network. + Use and integrate logo and brand related items on all communications materials. + Maintain and create all content for social media sites (Facebook & Instagram) + Collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and a unified approach to communications. + Develop, design and distribute digital quarterly newsletters + Champion the “You Are Here” culture via several communications media. + Serve on all “You Are Here” committees in effort to ensure proper program efficiency and communication. + Develop working relationships with partners and other community organizations, to further the outreach of the “You Are Here” program. + Act as support and contact for the development and integration of new technologies or business initiatives that require robust messaging and instruction. + Shoot and maintain a digital photography library of contracted events and internal activities for documentation and external communications. + Provide efficient and timely communications during times of crisis in conjunction with the General Manager and Department Directors. + All other duties, as assigned. Qualifications + Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. + Good organizational, planning, and coordination skills + Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as needed + Ability to edit and coordinate effective, creative, and visually engaging digital content + Digital photography and editing skills. + Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously + Possesses a sense of urgency; is self-motivated and detail-minded + Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships + Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills + Proactive approach in resolving problems and issues Education and/or Experience + 2+ Years communication experience. + Knowledge of Adobe and/or Affinity Suites + Demonstrated proficiency with all types of content management + Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web content management systems experience Skills and Abilities + Confident communication skills + Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing + Excellent Organizational and planning Skills + Superior project management and time management skills + A wide degree of creativity and latitude + Strong knowledge of current trends in digital/social media + Self-motivated with a positive professional approach to management Computer Skills + Microsoft Office Suite (O365) + Adobe Note The essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
