Killington and Pico Mountain are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to lead a dynamic team in shaping and executing our brand marketing and communication strategies.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep knowledge of the ski/snowboard industry and mountain culture, as well as the ability to understand and anticipate the needs of internal and external teams to find creative solutions to meet marketing goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a passion for storytelling, managing media relations, digital content, and brand messaging. They will encourage independent decision-making, open communication, collaboration, constructive feedback, and new ideas when mentoring the team, resulting in the most effective group who work together in a flexible, fun, creative and collaborative way.

Job Summary:
Lead a dynamic team in developing and executing brand marketing and communication strategies internally and externally that drive engagement, media visibility, and guest connection. This role is key in driving engagement, strengthening our brand presence, and ensuring consistent, authentic storytelling in our brand voice(s) across all communication platforms both internally and externally.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of marketing, social media, and communications team members in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful execution of marketing and communication strategies.
Develop and implement comprehensive PR and communication strategies that align with Killington and Pico’s brand, values, and business goals.
Ensure brand messaging is compelling, consistent, and aligned across all marketing and communication channels.
Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
Manage and support the social media team to create compelling posts for all 13 platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, X, Indeed, and Tik Toc.
Ensure the team is monitoring social media channels, engage with the audience, and respond to inquiries and comments in a timely manner.
Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies to improve performance.
Build and maintain relationships with media, influencers, sponsored athletes, community members and other key stakeholders.
Ensure the marketing specialists has the resources needed to prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other PR materials.
Coordinate media inquiries and media visits with the communications team.
Utilize a mix of channels, including blog and traditional media, to create awareness of marketing messages, services, and products in an authentic way.
Ensure we have a compelling daily snow/dirt report.
Ensure internal and external communications are consistent and on brand.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
**This position requires an intermediate to advanced ski/snowboard ability**
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, or a related field.
3-5 years of marketing and/or PR experience; resort, tourism, or outdoor industry experience preferred.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media management, and brand storytelling.
Experience managing social media accounts with high engagement and growth metrics.
Knowledge of Sprout, Cision, Basecamp, Adobe, Canto is a plus.
Experience working directly with influencers and media professionals preferred.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and outside normal office hours as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a strong brand voice.
Confident and effective public speaker.
Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of and ability to downhill mountain bike a plus but not required
Able to pitch and execute innovative, next level concepts quickly
Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask while remaining communicative
Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects/activities/directives simultaneously
