Communications Representative - IM-Telemanagement Services

Applicant must have open availability and be available evening, nights and weekends.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Communications Representative is responsible for processing communication services between RCHSD, the public, physicians, staff & visitors using the telephone, pagers, and/or overhead paging. In addition, the representative manages pagers, engages in secure text messaging sessions with doctors and nurses regarding PHI information transmission, works with on-call web paging system including maintenance of schedules and engages multi-site emergency messaging via an IP based Informcast system. The Communications Rep has access to various resources to distribute accurate information. The Communications Rep is crucial in the event of an emergency or disaster. They are to respond to various alarms & notifications & send out communications accordingly & efficiently. They are responsible for dispatching for Transport, Translation Services, Biomed, EVS & POM. This is a key role not only in voice management but in centralized communications that are relevant to the overall hospital operations.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Strong customer service skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Understanding of troubleshooting systems in communication

- Clear speech and listening skills

- Must type 40 wpm

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

- Ability to multi-task in a complex environment and respond to emergencies

- Experience with computers and Microsoft Office applications

- Strong written and communication skills

- Experience with high volume, multi-line telephone system

- Exceptional customer service skills

- Related experience in customer service, PBX Operator, call center, office administration, secretarial

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- One years of experience

- Bilingual - English/Spanish

- Previous PBX experience in healthcare or hospitality

The current salary range for this position is $21.00 to $28.88
