Position Overview:

Boeing China is looking for a Senior Manager of Communications to be based out of Beijing, China. As a Communications Senior Manager, you will work collaboratively with key business leaders and Communications leaders, develop and implement a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy for Boeing in China designed to promote, protect and expand the company’s reputation amongst key stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for Boeing in China.

Manage, direct, and develop a team of in-country communicators.

Serve as the senior communicator in China, providing strategic support and counsel to the Boeing leadership team, including the President of Boeing China and the Vice President of Sales, Commercial Airplanes.

Integrate and lead communication campaigns in China, ensuring appropriate presentation and tone to support enterprise and business unit initiatives.

Act as the media relations focal point and Boeing spokesperson for China, ensuring timely, accurate, and effective proactive and reactive engagement.

Lead social media strategy and execution to enhance Boeing's presence and engagement in the Chinese market.

Coordinate with in-country teams to develop and implement an internal communications strategy and plan.

Support executive briefing documents for visiting ExCo-level leaders, requiring extensive coordination across business units, functions, and geographic offices.

Advise Government Operations and Boeing Global government affairs on in-country messaging.

Coordinate Boeing Global Engagement communications efforts to demonstrate presence and commitment in China.

Manage in-country air shows and major events, including staffing and deliverables.

Lead crisis and issues management efforts within the country.

Partner with the corporate team to implement Brand Strategy and enhance reputation.

Oversee trademark and brand compliance within China.

Monitor the local budget and ensure reporting accuracy.

Manage external communications agencies to achieve maximum ROI.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree or higher.

Communications experience (employee communications and/or media relations) within companies and/or government.

Exceptional Mandarin and English speaking and writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of, and ideally established connections within, the in-country aerospace sector.

Significant experience working with communications stakeholders in China.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in senior communications roles within major international corporations, airlines, or PR agencies.

Minimum 3 years' substantial crisis and issues management experience

Proven ability to collaborate effectively with communications stakeholders, including associations, strategic partners, and customers.

Strategic vision and creativity, complemented by a hands-on tactical approach.

Ability to think provocatively and work collaboratively.

Results-driven with a strong bottom-line orientation.

Tolerance for organizational complexity and a strong team player.

Additional Information:

This is an international local hire employee position. Base pay and benefits are determined in line with local labor market practices.
