Overview
Responsibilities
Creates and updates member materials to meet Federal and State regulations and health plan business needs, including but not limited to regulatory materials such as the Medicare Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), Evidence of Coverage, Member Handbook, Provider Directory, and Formulary as well as member newsletters, brochures, flyers, and other communications used for member education.Maintains an understanding of relevant Medicare and Medicaid regulations and stays abreast of updates. Ensures member materials are accurate, comply with Federal and State regulations, are submitted to CMS and/or DOH as required and are distributed within the required timeframes.Writes, edits, and formats materials as needed. Works with external graphic design resources for selected materials such as newsletters and brochures. Coordinates the translation of materials into non-English languages and 508 compliance remediation as required.Coordinates large-scale mailings and print production projects from start to finish. Works with printers, mail houses and other vendors to develop timelines and cost estimates. Ensures print production and mailing projects are completed on time, within budget and according to the specifications provided.Proofreads and conducts QA activities on materials and mailings to ensure error-free execution, including the accurate population of variable data.Collaborates with Third Party Administrator (“TPA”) and other delegated vendors to ensure high quality, compliant communications to health plan members, which includes developing, reviewing and approving form letters and other communications distributed by delegated vendors.Works with the digital team to ensure that the health plan website includes the materials and elements required by regulation and that information is kept current.Maintains a working knowledge of consumer communications best practices, including the principles of plain language communications.Participates in special projects and performs other duties, as required.
Qualifications
Prepares and distributes member communications materials for VNSNY Health Plans in accordance with federal, state and business requirements. Ensures all materials produced and submitted to CMS and/or the State Department of Health reflect relevant regulations. Uses consumer communications best practices to support member engagement and optimize the member experience. Coordinates the development, production, and distribution of materials with relevant departments and vendors. Works under general supervision.

Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or related field of study required.Experience:
Minimum of three years communications, marketing or program development experience required, preferably in a health care setting or managed care organization. Excellent written communications and proofreading skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and working knowledge of Excel required. Experience preparing files for print production and working with large-scale mailings preferred.
