Job Summary: Communications Specialist (Disney Entertainment)About the Role & Team

Disney Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and Platform Distribution (PD) are business units within Disney Entertainment that manage the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming brands (Disney+, Hulu, Hulu + Live TV, and bundles), as well as all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate-related business operations for all of the company's DTC services and linear media networks, and content sales agreements for Disney Entertainment and ESPN.
 

The multi-disciplined communications team is seeking a Communications Specialist who will be an integral part of the team, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to help manage a broad range of communication activities. This includes supporting all external consumer-facing efforts across a variety of complex businesses such as the brand management and growth strategies for Disney’s streaming services, DTC content performance/data and analytics, Hulu + Live TV, viewer experience, platform partner onboarding, consumer promotions, third-party content licensing, affiliate sales, and linear networks' distribution.

What You Will DoContribute to all aspects of the external communications process including development of communications plans, announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documentsManage media relations inboxes, press inquiries, and media lists for Disney+ and HuluTrack, analyze, and circulate press coverage reports and drive research projectsAssist with executive communications efforts including award submissions, pitching and securing speaking engagements, and speech/remarks developmentAssist with event coordination and business-driven industry eventsSupport and help facilitate talent and production publicity requests for content licensed to third parties domestically and internationally including travel planning, itineraries, junkets, and media events
 Required Qualifications & Skills2+ years of communications experience, preferably with a studio, streamer, network, or technology companyOrganized and meticulous with excellent time management skillsProfessional writing experienceAbility to take direction from multiple stakeholders, prioritize deadlines, and effectively work through challenges in a fast-paced environmentExhibits a positive attitude and a multi-tasking team playerHighly motivated and organized teammate who is curious about all areas of our businessAbility to handle confidential information
 Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity and knowledge of Disney’s streaming brands and the company’s streaming, television, theatrical and third-party licensed content.An overall appreciation for the Disney brand a plus!
 Education

Bachelor’s degree (Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field) or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $76,300.00 - $95,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
