Responsibilities: Syntelligent is seeking a part time Community Affairs Assistant to work 10-12 hours per week. This part-time position will report to our Luray, VA office. The Community Affairs Assistant will support Human Resources and Community Affairs by working closely with team members to develop, implement and grow community outreach programs that promote the company's image in a positive and community-oriented way. Tasks and duties Include: Act as a brand ambassador within the Luray and Page County Community. Attend and represent Syntelligent at local community and business events. Confer with managers to identify trends or key group interests or concerns or to provide advice on business decisions. Assist in the preparation or editing of organizational publications for internal or external audiences. Study corporate objectives, promotional policies, or needs to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, or services. Establish or maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee, or public interest groups. Plan or direct development or communication of programs to maintain favorable public perceptions of corporate accomplishments, agenda, or environmental responsibility. Prepare or deliver speeches to further public relations objectives. Write press releases or other media communications to promote corporate objectives. Arrange public appearances, lectures, contests, or exhibits to increase product or service awareness or to promote goodwill. Confer with production or support personnel to produce or coordinate production of advertisements or promotions. Develop plans or materials to communicate activities undertaken by organizations that are beneficial to the environment, public safety, or other important social issues. Editing and creating documents in Word. Editing and creating documents in Excel. Editing and creating documents in PowerPoint. Saving documents to an on-line file system. Utilize word of mouth marketing, Internet marketing, and Internet marketing techniques to increase traffic, company awareness, and job applications. Other Administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high-level attention to detail Flexible, adaptable, and able to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment. Minimum two (2) years' experience in marketing, public relations and or event management Proven ability to build relationships and network, excellent customer service skills. Prior knowledge of the communities we operate in is a plus. Well, organized with excellent follow through. Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel. Experience using an on-line calendar system to schedule appointments such as MS Outlook. Preferred: Associate's degree Experience with Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) Desired experience working within Human Resources, Recruiting, Marketing, Public Relations or Business Operations. 1 year or more of business experience or Students in college working toward a degree in: Business Management Information Technology Communications / PR Marketing Journalism English Online applications, please.
