Univision is seeking a talented Community Empowerment Coordinator based in Tampla, FL. The Community Relations Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Empowerment and assists with projects related to partnerships with companies, governmental and non-profit organizations and the station, as well as community events. The Community Empowerment Coordinator assists in building new community partnerships and helps maintain existing ones. This is achieved by actively engaging potential community partners through various means of communication particularly via email or telephone.

Research companies and organizations for possible partnershipsAssist with the planning and marketing of community eventsWork closely with promotions, sales and news to execute community eventsHelp create agreements with community organizationsAssist with TV talent to actively engage in community eventsOrganize, coordinate and monitor community involvement in programs/eventsAssist with station corporate initiative and eventsCreate event recapsSchedule, manage and maintain television PSAsCreation and filing of the quarterly FCC Reports for televisionManage station tour requestsAssist with talent requestsProfessional demeanor required at all timesAdapts to different situations, and assist others as neededMaintains positive working relationships with co-workersAbility to work well with various personalitiesAbility to work well under stressful circumstances and able to meet tight deadlinesFollows instructions as well as take steps necessary to prevent mistakesPerforms other tasks as directed, following well-defined proceduresAssist in the taping of On-Air Content: News Magazine, PSA’s, etc.

YOU HAVE:

Knowledge of formatting, proofreading, basic arithmetic and filingWorking knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook software packagesRequires good typing skills (50 wpm)Community planning, engagement and outreachOrganized, detail-oriented and self-motivatedEffective written and verbal communication skillsThe ability to work in a team settingMust have time management and organizational skills to meet deadlinesGreat Communication and teamwork skillsGreat people skills, enthusiastic and a true passion for helping the communityKnowledge of INews is a plusPerforms additional duties, as assigned by Community Empowerment Director and/or General ManagerMust have valid Driver’s License with good driving record.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Univision is a 24/7 media company.   This position requires regularly scheduled work periods including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.Must be willing to work from office in Tampa, FL.Employment/education will be verified.Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

PHYSYCAL REQUIREMENTS
