Community Engagement Intern - Summer 2025

**OUC – The** **_Reliable_** **One** , an industry leader and the second-largest municipal utility in Florida, is offering an internship program in the OU.DIVISION.
We are looking for a **Community Engagement Intern - Summer 2025** . During the internship,you will support OUC’s marketing, community engagement, customer outreach, employee volunteer and education programs, including coordinating or implementing efforts for employee involvement in volunteer programs, community events and any other employee or retiree programs.
Projects will vary from supporting OUC's Leadership Forum (leadership workshop), Watercolor Project/Watts Savings Project, volunteer projects, OUCares giving project and sponsorships. Tasks would vary from logistics, event support, managing spreadsheets, assist with reporting, managing the Community Engagement email inbox, attending events as an OUC representative and administrative support tasks.
This job is performed in an office work environment and requires travel between OUC locations and to community event/partners across the service territory. This job may require occasional evening or weekend work hours. This job includes constant standing, walking, sitting, speaking/hearing, and writing/typing, reading and detailed inspection. There may be occasional reaching over head, and lifting up to forty (40) lbs.
**Internship Eligibility:**
+ Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in a degree seeking program.
+ Academic status of **Junior or Senior**
+ Program of study: Marketing, English, Mass Communications, Public Relations, or related major
+ Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
+ Authorized to work in the United States
+ Ability to commit to a full-time schedule between **May 19, 2025** through **August 25, 2025**
**The Ideal Candidate will have:**
+ Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and compute rates, ratios, and percentages
+ Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and standard office equipment (telephone, computer, copier, etc.)
+ Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
**Nice to Haves:**
+ Expert in Excel
+ Advanced PowerPoint skill for creating presentations
+ Creating charts from data, able to support basic data analysis and provide insights

**Compensation** : $13.75 - $17.50 per hour, varies depending the education level
**Schedule** : Full-Time (up to 40 hours per week) – Hybrid Schedule
