Community Engagement Specialist (Queens/Nassau) or (Nassau/Suffolk)

The candidate must successfully achieve the following:

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to build and nurture relationships with community partners, organizations, and stakeholdersCreate, maintain and foster the partnerships to drive positive impact and company growthManage community engagement activities and events in assigned territories in the Healthfirst service areaIdentify opportunities to tell the stories created by our community collaborationsCreate reports and present plans and status updates to senior organizational leadersBe a champion for documenting our team’s impact consistently and accurately through storytellingTrack partnerships and events in SalesforceCollaborate with internal teams to identify community needs and opportunities for engagementPlan and execute community events, initiatives, and programs to promote community involvement and well-beingAct as a liaison between the company and the community, representing our organization in a positive and impactful mannerMonitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement efforts and initiativesProvide support and guidance to community members seeking assistance or information related to our servicesManage special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work effectively with diverse groupsProven experience in community outreach, relationship-building, and/or community engagementExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyPassion for making a positive impact in the community and driving meaningful changeAbility to think strategically, to use data to inform decisions, and to solve problems and challenges creativelyProject management skills with a proven ability to drive successful outcomesProven ability to engage with leaders from across sectors, experiences, perspectives, and backgroundsAbility to meet organizational objectives by leveraging appropriate internal and external partnersAuthentic commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusionDisplays curiosity, intelligence, and ability to learn quickly with an eye toward the futureKnowledge of local community resources and organizationsStrong community ties and relationships within the community4-5 years of experience in New York-based community relationsAbility to meet key organizational priorities through community partnerships and relationshipsDemonstrated professionalism in public spheres to represent Healthfirst in the target communitiesMust be willing and able to travel throughout Queens and NassauMust be willing to work nights and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) events as neededMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of New York’s health insurance marketplaceAccess to a motor vehicle, valid driver’s license & proof of insuranceBilingual

Hiring Range*:

Greater New York City Area (NY, NJ, CT residents): $67,205 - $95,680

All Other Locations (within approved locations): $59,800 - $87,360

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, licenses and certifications, and any other factors Healthfirst deems pertinent to the hiring decision.
