\n \n Job Description

The CommunityEvents Planner and Activities Coordinator will create, research, plan, schedule, promote, and facilitate community events for homeowners and residents at our HOA community in Gaithersburg, MD. Events include community socials, themed events, holiday events, etc. This includes contacting vendors to provide entertainment, arts & crafts, food and beverage, decorations, transportation, etc.

Daily responsibilities:

\n

\n\nWork with community, vendors, site maintenance, and other groups to ensure qualityexperiences.\nIdentify activities, coordinate site and instruction needs, and ensure community programshappen as scheduled.\nCreate, plan, design, schedule, and facilitate community events.\nUpdate and manage the Events Calendar.\nMarket, advertise, and encourage participation in events.Send out email blasts, text messaging, and post flyers to advertise events within the community and subdivision(s).\nPurchase, monitor, and clean event supplies and inventory to ensure event readiness.\nWrite content and update the biweekly newsletter to promote community activities and events.\nContact vendors to confirm advertising in community publication.Receive and review advertisements from vendors.\nUpdate and manage community and vendor emails and contact information.\nReserve and manage court reservations.\nSchedule staff to work the Snack Bar during pool season.\nAssist with administrative duties. Back-up the administrative assistant as needed. Answer phones, greet guests, and assist walk-ins.\nTrain part time Recreation Attendants.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n Requirements\nHigh School Diploma or GED Required.\n3 + years of event planning and coordinating experience is required.\nProfessional communication (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.) and customer service skills.\nSelf-motivated, proactive, punctual, detail oriented and a team player.\nTime management and time critical prioritization skills.\nKnowledge of software programs that enable mass communication, read to text, text to read, and text messaging to promote events.\n\n
