St. Luke’s University Health Network’s Department of Community Health is offering a paid summer internships (0.5 FTE) with a focus on our Summer Meals and food security as an identified need through our Community Health Needs Assessment. The objective of the internship is to gain work experience coordinating, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based community health initiatives. The intern will work directly with the Senior Network Director and the Network Initiatives Coordinator.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English required for contact with physicians, patients, the community, and outside agencies.

EDUCATION:
Currently enrolled or completed a bachelor’s degree program
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Program specific training will be provided upon hire. Ability to engage and maintain constructive relationship within a diverse population. Bi-lingual preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and Internship Duties:
Review and follow protocols and guidelines for the Summer Feeding program and other initiatives as assigned. Interact with Community Health staff to complete assigned tasks. Under supervision, interact with community members to provide health education related to program specific health topics. Collaborate with community partners to organize and attend events relating to community health initiatives. Under supervision, complete program data entry and evaluation for assigned initiatives. In collaboration with staff, strategize ways for patients to overcome social determinants of health to improve health status.
Assist in ensuring program deliverables are met.
