Posting Number NONAC3449 Job Title Community Health Worker- CARTEEH Position Title Community Health Worker- CARTEEH Position Type Non-Faculty Number of vacancies 1 Salary $38,500 Department Comm Hlth/Prev Med-Ch/Pm Position Summary The Community Health Worker will support and/or conduct scientific research and the collection, analysis, and reporting of data. This position will support the conduct of scientific research with grants administration, theoretical and applied research, human subject compliance, laboratory support services, animal care, etc.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Associate degree or two (2) years of college required. In lieu of a degree/college, at least five (5) years experience as a Community Health Worker.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year clerical experience in a community health program to include experience utilizing a personal computer. Ability to communicate effectively with research participants, community contacts and staff both in writing and orally. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications Experience working with those with health issues associated with air pollution, vehicle-related injuries or physical inactivity. Job Duties Description of Job Duty Participate and train in the Learning Circles as an integral member of the MSM CARTEETH (Center for Advancing Research in Transportation Emissions, Energy, and Health) team. Work closely with the Neighborhood Planning Unit to train CHW’s and community residents on the CARTEETH transportation and health curriculum. Will be responsible for identifying and working with other Community Health Workers to target the area to increase knowledge and awareness of environmental health issues in the city of Atlanta. Work with the project team to post social media messages which include information on improving air quality, the importance of electric vehicles and recruitment and community events. Conduct community outreach, establish relations with community organizations and community clinics Serve as a community resource for the Learning Circle in developing and implementing the intervention. Assist in data collection and data entry as needed Serve as a community resource assist with recruitment, advertising, key informant interviews, and focus groups Provides assistance in the recruitment and retention of research study participants in assigned programs and or research projects. Recruits and retain participants in research study. Provides outreach and care management support to participants; educate participants of available community resources. May be responsible for assisting participants in obtaining transportation, childcare or other support when necessary. May act as a participant advocate and support the development of problem-solving skills; provide instructions in basic health care procedures. Provides feedback relevant to improving service accessibility and acceptability to providers.

Immunization Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption.
