The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for Community Impact Manager based in La Jolla, California. This is a field-based position that involves regular work performed from home and remote locations for business meetings across San Diego and southwest Riverside County.  This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant funded opportunity. Current funding will expire on December 31, 2025.

 

 

Under broad supervision, the Community Impact Manager will manage the implementation and execution of health improvement and community impact initiatives aligned with market, region, and association-wide goals with a focus on clinical and ambulatory health improvement programs.

Responsibilities Program Management:Develop and execute implementation plans to drive participation in efforts to improve access to quality outpatient care and other clinical policy, systems, and environment change initiatives.Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and strategic community alliances (federally qualified health centers, outpatient clinics, public health departments, and the like).Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful program execution and adherence to American Heart Association guidelines and standards.Coordinate logistics for programsExecute assigned sponsorship activation programming as applicableMonitor program metrics and provide regular reports on progress and outcomes including evaluations and surveysAdministrative and data management as requiredMeasurement and Data Collection:Actively collaborates with program participants to collect, enter, and submit data in accordance with established timelines and protocols.Encourage and support data submission to outpatient platforms including connecting health centers with technical assistance as needed and celebrating participation and recognition when complete.Communication and Outreach:Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, volunteers, and sponsors, providing support and addressing inquiries promptly.Perform outreach to organizations and volunteers including research of potential community partners.Manage and conduct presentations and meetings related to assigned programs.Represent the American Heart Association in stakeholder meetings and events.Actively supports market efforts to deliver on health, revenue, and volunteer engagement commitments including implementation of funded initiatives, events, and other activities.Manage information utilizing American Heart Association systems accurately, timely and completely in accordance with established guidelines.Ensure full compliance with appropriate operational and financial requirements and practices and within the available budget. Operates in accordance with the American Heart Association's Fiscal Standard policies and all applicable laws, regulations, policies and standards.    Qualifications

2 years of relevant experience which includes:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, across modalities (in-person, email, voice-to-voice).Ability to motivate and influence others to actionExcellent organizational and project management abilities, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectivelyAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for program events and activitiesAbility to travel across San Diego and southwest Riverside County up to 50%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis. Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range will be $68,000-$72,000 annually. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
